There's something undeniably magical about a winter wedding in the Canadian Rockies, and Dawn and Ben’s day at Emerald Lake Lodge was nothing short of enchanting. These moments, rich in emotion and wrapped in the quiet beauty of winter, were an honour to capture.
The Venue
An hour from Banff, Emerald Lake Lodge is more than just a wedding venue; it’s a retreat into the heart of nature. With no cell phone service, couples and their guests are able to be fully present to experience the tranquility of Yoho National Park. The lodge’s century-old fireplaces add a sense of timeless charm and authenticity. Surrounded by the pristine beauty of Emerald Lake, this venue offers a truly unparalleled setting for a winter wedding.
their story
Much like our couple, this day was a confluence of elegance and warmth, set against the stunning snowy landscape. Having worked as a wedding coordinator herself, Dawn knew she wanted something different for her day from the summer heat of the Okanagan, and the Rockies delivered.
In the weeks leading up to - and proceeding, the temperature highs reached only -15°C. But on that one Saturday in March, the sky opened and we had a crisp but comfortable high of 5°C. Instead of a ceremony arch, they would exchange vows under Emerald peak while their guests bared witness, sipping hot cider. In her Martina Liana gown, Dawn was giving luxe Queen of Arendelle, complimented perfectly by Ben in his high-end ensemble. These two are immensely kind-hearted, absolutely stunning, and undeniably in love.

"We recently had the pleasure of having Emily + Colin photograph our wedding, and it was the most incredible experience. It's hard to find the right words to share just how special they are as people, how memorable they made our day, and how much we enjoyed having them there for every single moment.
These two were such a dream to spend our day with. Our family and friends are still raving about how kind, genuine, and incredible they both were. They made not only us but everyone that attended our wedding so comfortable throughout the day, and they were so much fun to just be with all day long.
