On a sun soaked day in June, Carly and Tyler's wedding unfolded amidst the natural beauty of Agapae Oaks, a historic wedding venue nestled in South Carolina's Lowcountry.

their story

Carly was on set with Jones Road Beauty when she met Bobbi Brown, who quickly asked about her plans for Thanksgiving. The conversation prompted an invite to Bobbi's family's celebration, where she introduced Carly to her nephew Tyler. They hit it off right away, and it's easy to see why. These are two extremely genuine people, with gentle spirits and an endearing curiosity for the natural world. During our initial consult, Carly explained that they chose Agapae Oaks for a 400 year old oak tree found on the property, and that this tree would be the centrepiece of their ceremony.

The VenuE

As destination wedding photographers, we get so inspired seeing venues for the first time, and Agapae Oaks was no exception. This wedding venue is bordered on both sides by undeveloped marshland, and graced with countless ancient oak trees which are draped in Spanish moss. It is a stunning setting that perfectly suited Carly and Tyler's celebration.

The day began with the couple preparing in the historic manor, which dates back to 1790. The late afternoon ceremony under the shade of the ancient oaks, with soft sunlight filtering through, was a beautiful blend of history and nature. The reception, family centred with personal touches, was relaxed yet elegant, a theme that we found perfectly reflected the couple's effortless style.

Some words from our bride

"Emily & Colin photographed my wedding and they were absolutely amazing! Doing the 'getting ready' photos felt comfortable and fun - like I was hanging out with a good friend. They are very well organized, professional and communicate effectively. In chaos of the wedding day they brought calmness. The photos turned out BEAUTIFULLY. I was blown away!"
