Dana and Fayyaz's wedding at Vancouver’s historic Hycroft Manor was a masterclass in intentional design. From start to finish, the day felt considered, personal, and reflective of who they are.
The Venue
Hycroft Manor is one of those rare venues that feels both grand and grounded. With its stately rooms, terraced gardens, and city views, it’s a place full of history that is also rooted in the nature of the coast. Dana and Fayyaz chose to have most of the day outdoors, no small feat for a West Coast wedding in the spring. Hycroft is one of very few venues in Vancouver that can support a vision like theirs.
their story
Dana and Fayyaz are incredibly thoughtful, creative, and deeply loved by their people. Some of Fayyaz’s family travelled from Bangladesh to be there, and the sense of closeness throughout the day was unmistakable.
Dana is an artist, something that was felt by everyone in attendance. A designer by trade, she thoughtfully curated every element of the day, from her custom ring to the signage and beautifully considered tablescape. The entire celebration felt like a window into her creative world.
The day
It rained most of the morning, a steady kind of rain that very much added to the feeling of anticipation. The hydrangeas were at their happiest, and the garden looked especially lush. Right before the ceremony began, the skies cleared and the sun appeared at exactly the right time.
After the rose garden ceremony, the weather continued to improve, and they welcomed their guests to an 80-person long table dinner al fresco on the upper terrace. The florals and decor were bold without ever feeling overdone, and elegant without feeling stiff. Silver goblets overflowed with grapes, deep burgundy anthuriums added richness, and draping amaranthus brought movement and texture. Every element felt tastefully lush, balanced, and full of intention.
