From a beautifully executed rain plan to fashion forward bridal styling, this Fraser River Lodge wedding is a stunning reminder that intention makes everything better.
The Venue
Fraser River Lodge sits at the edge of the mountains in Agassiz, BC, and offers one of the most striking backdrops in the province. The view alone is worth the drive: sweeping fields, wild river, and mountain peaks that disappear into cloud. It’s a place that holds space for both grandeur and intimacy, and this day leaned into both.
their story
Originally from Jakarta, Aldo and Zahra met here in Canada and transitioned into their west coast life together with ease, spending their Saturdays running marathons or on the golf course. Many of their guests made the journey from Indonesia to celebrate with them. They were excited to show their families this special part of the world, making this day in the mountains especially meaningful.
The day
It rained, and we loved it. Guests from across Canada and Indonesia arrived to a covered ceremony of elegant white umbrellas as low-hanging clouds drifted past the iconic Mount Cheam. Umbrellas over the ceremony didn’t feel like a compromise, but part of the vision. Thoughtful, beautiful, and fully embraced.
Zahra wore a stunning two-piece by Milla Nova that paired silk corset with pleated, flowing maxi skirt, blending Victorian-era elegance with a modern, fashion forward feel. It felt effortless and entirely her.
Calla lilies and draping amaranthus added to the understated beauty of the day. Their portraits were taken in the rain, in front of a flowing white drapery backdrop with mountain peaks appearing through the mist behind.
Rain and all, there was an ease to this day that stayed with us. We left feeling inspired by these two, their calm, their clarity, and how all that really mattered was time with their favourite people.
Documented on a mix of 35mm film and digital.
